DESIGNER DRU CHRISTINE FEATURED AT 38th ANNUAL NAJASO CONVENTION GALA
CLEVELAND, OHIO — There is no denying this designers love for reggae music and culture. These elements remain a viable source of inspiration for the designers collections and other works. In retrospect, Dru Christine has been selected to showcase her latest collection at the 38th Annual NAJASO Gala in Cleveland.
NAJASO (The National Association of Jamaican & Supportive Organizations, Inc.) is an Association of Jamaicans and supporters throughout the United States and internationally. NAJASO was founded on July 4, 1977. NAJASO embraces many non-Jamaicans in organizations and individually, who support the Association’s programs; and also works closely with American and Caribbean organizations on issues affecting Jamaica, in particular, and the Caribbean in general.
The 38th Annual Convention rolls into Cleveland July 16 – 18th, with several events including a trade exhibition, seminars, workshops, Boatride and Gala. The Awards Presentation and Gala features LIVE performances by Jah Messengers Reggae Band throughout the evening. Dru Christine will showcase her collection at 8pm.
Dru Thompson, designer and owner of Dru Christine Fabrics and Design (located on 15615 Waterloo Road in Cleveland, Ohio) will be a welcome element to the event. Thompson’s use of vibrant colors and bold patterns are the trademark of her design label, Dru Christine. Combined with her showmanship and professionalism, guests of this event will be pleased.

“As a supporter of the community and the music, the love for the culture and people naturally follows. Reggae music and it’s energy has served as much inspiration for several collections,” says Thompson. “It is a great honor to have an opportunity to be apart of this event as many (in this community) have supported my business over the years, this is an awesome occasion to reciprocate.”

The NAJASO Gala will take place on Saturday, July 18th at The Cleveland Marriott East (located at 26300 Harvard Avenue in Warrensville Heights). The event is from 7:30 pm to 1:00am. The black tie gala also featured a keynote speaker, live entertainment and dinner.
Tickets are $80 per person and $150 per couple and proceeds benefit the organizations educational and outreach programs.
