Another successful event on record for the “365: and Counting” Anniversary Celebration Week! The room was filled with growth as graphic artists, accessories designers, an event planner,an illustrator, a radio DJ, authors and more, came out for “Come, Grow with DCF&D”.
Some were inspired to take their business to the next level while some were inspired to take the plunge into entrepreneurship.

It was all about learning and hands on experience as the celebration continued with all day demos and tutorials about fabrics, sewing and unfinished projects. The highlight of the event concluded with a hands on class teaching the art of deconstructing a t shirt. Special thanks to Tira Heard and Imani Allen who braved the methods and walked away with a custom t shirt.
The anniversary week events continues tomorrow with “Come Grow with DCF&D” at 5pm, featuring networking, growth and presentation by Karen Buggs, dream launcher and business educator.

I’m often asked about offering my items online for my out of town clientele or those who follow me on social media. Although it was always my intent to offer items online, I know the importance of being patient in business.
As I move towards year 2, I’m pleased to announce SHOP DRU CHRISTINE on http://www.druchristine.com. Many of the items can be made custom in desired size and color.
Be sure to check it out! http://druchristine.com/shop_dru_christine
“…And So it Begins” was a HUGE success! Special, special thanks to Danyele Andrews who set the bar very high for the first of many events to kick off to the celebration for “365: and counting”. Setting my OCD tendencies aside, It was hard for me to give up control, but she had great ideas and made things happen. The store was completely transformed to welcome all guests to the event. Music bumping, food was in abundance and the energy was on point.

Thanks to Robyn Miller and Samantha Walker who assisted today, and all who stopped by to kick off the celebration.
But, It doesn’t stop there. Next up, “Each One, Teach One” comes Tuesday, August 13th. All day demonstrations with a deconstructed T Shirt tutorial at 5.
See you soon!
Open letter to: business owners, entrepreneurs – present & future:
As I prepare to celebrate the 1st year in business, I would like to invite you to attend “Come, Grow with DCF&D” NEXT THURSDAY, August 15th. This event was planned with the entrepreneur and business owner in mind as we gather to network, exchange ideas and learn to GROW as leaders in our community – a concept in which I truly believe and have worked towards since opening my doors in August of 2012.
This event will also feature guest speaker, Karyn Buggs, Entrepreneur Educator and Dream Launcher. Mrs. Buggs has been my secret weapon in my business methods and I am pleased to present her during this event. Karyn will share some knowledge during her presentation, “Business & Bees: How to use the mentality of bees to grow you.” I am positive you will benefit from this piece.
I look forward to seeing you next Thursday, August 15th for “Come, Grow with DCF&D” at Dru Christine Fabrics & Design, 1623 Lee Road in Cleveland Heights. The event starts is from 5-9 pm, with Karyn Buggs presenting at 7pm.

As we know, fashion often repeats itself. A timeless trend in fashion headwear has been the resurgence of turbans, head wraps, and headscarves. These looks have been seen on the runway, as well as on celebrities like Solange Knowles. Even June Ambrose has designed a line of turbans for her female fashionistas.
Fashionable headwear is a great accessory to compliment an outfit by adding color and texture to your wardrobe, and as a stylish alternative to hats that can often leave your hair flat and matted. Unlike beanies and other hats; turbans, head wraps, and headscarves are comfortable, yet fashionable enough to wear year-round. With various tying techniques, this trend offers a different style for every day of the week.
Fashionable headwear offers not only aesthetic benefits, but also hair benefits, especially for those women who are natural or transitioning. With such shifting weather changes every day, women’s hair is fighting a constant battle against the elements. Fashionable headwear provides protection from wind, snow, and the harmful UV rays of the sun–all which can strip hair of its natural moisture. By having the hair tucked away and covered, turbans, head wraps, and headscarves can actually help to preserve hair’s moisture, which aids in longer and stronger hair.
With hair maintenance being one of the main concerns for women who work out, fashionable headwear is a great solution to getting fit without compromising their hairstyles. This chic trend helps keep hair manageable when exercising.
It can be hard to find unique fabrics for fashionable headwear at the typical department stores. Luckily, Dru Christine Fabrics and Design offers customers a myriad selection of prints and patterns. The boutique has a wide collection of designer and vintage fabrics allowing customers to choose their ideal print, length, and shape of their headwear. In addition, women can learn different techniques and styles for tying.
So whether it’s a turban to match your outfit, a head wrap to uphold your style while working out, or a head scarf for a lazy or bad hair day, fashionable headwear is perfect for any situation. Check out the wrap artistry at Dru Christine Fabrics & Design to create a style that’s all you! Be sure to stop in
